EFA is pleased to invite you to the event ‘Indoor Air Quality and Children: The Needed Leap Forward’, taking place on 10 June 2026 at the European Parliament in Brussels, Belgium, hosted by MEP Aurelijus Veryga (ECR).
The event takes place in the context of SynAir-G project, part of the broader EU-funded IDEAL Cluster, which brings together 7 research projects focused on the health impacts of indoor and outdoor air pollution. SynAir-G focuses specifically on children as a vulnerable group, and schools as a sensitive indoor setting given that children spend a considerable amount of time in it.
Representatives of policymakers, healthcare professionals, patients, education, local authorities and the youth will engage in a conversation that aims to inform the broader EU-wide discourse on the value of indoor air quality for health. Discussions will revolve around:
- Present the recommendations and guidelines on Indoor Air Quality in schools to policymakers and stakeholders.
- Encourage policy action and implementation of the recommendations at EU, national, and local levels.
- Raise awareness among EU policymakers and local authorities about the importance of improving IAQ in schools for the health and well-being of children.
- Facilitate dialogue and strengthen collaboration between policymakers, patient organisations, and health advocates to advance healthier school environments across Europe.
